There are so many events to be enjoyed here in North Cyprus and many of them can be found at the Girne American University, Girne  and this week we went along to have a look at what the exhibition of Recycled Christmas Trees was all about and the following will give you some idea of what we found.

An Exhibition of “Recycled Christmas Trees” was opened on 24 December, Monday at 11:00 am in Girne American University (GAU), Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts.

Awards to be given to the successful works on 28 December, Friday at 14:00 pm during the closing ceremony of the event organized in the cause of environmentalist sensitivity. The organization of the exhibition is being achieved by the teaching staff of GAU Aslıhanv Aldış and GAU Department of Architecture. The exhibition will be held in Girne American University (GAU), ArchitectuVice Dean of GAU Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hossein Sadri smlre and Interior Architecture Department and is open to the public on 24-28 December.

Whilst we were unable to be present for the award ceremony, it was a real delight to look at the many and varied Christmas Trees which were all created with great skill and sensitivity by the individual students from recycled materials such as plastic cups, plastic tubes, cardboard, paper, wire, foil and the choice seemed to be endless.

The variations and the thought put into the individual designs was breathtaking and I had an opportunity to speak with Vice Dean of GAU Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hossein Sadri and he said he was delighted with all the hard work put into the project by his students and also said there were many other events at Girne American University, many of which are open to the public and we hope to bring you more news of these in the months to come as there is some wonderful experiences to be seen and enjoyed on the GAU Campus.
