“Friends” Christmas Social Evening 

The “Friends” Line Dancers certainly know how to enjoy themselves and as well as their passion for line dancing, which they demonstrate at various events, they get together as a group and have fun.

Janet Bartholomew has sent me some information about their Christmas Social Evening which was held at the Açmenya Restaurant in Alsancak and it looks as if, as usual, they had a great time. 

Janet tells me that as most of their friends go to line dancing they do not bother to send Christmas cards to each other and instead they put money into their Donkey Box which is to raise funds for the Kozan donkeys.   What a good idea.

This is what Janet had to say about their Christmas get-together.

“This year “Friends” decided to try and include a little for everyone at their Christmas Social Evening.

The fun commenced around seven thirty with a variety of line dances performed to Christmas music, so those that did not dance if they wished could sing along. Food was then served at the tables, the dessert being a generous portion of  “Friends“ specially made cake.

A nice surprise followed for Stephen & Janet when they were presented with a Christmas hamper overflowing with goodies, they thanked everyone for this kind gesture.

A fun and friendly night was enjoyed by all.”

It has been another good year for the line dancers and you can find them at the Punjab Restaurant in Lapta every Monday & Wednesday morning between 10am and 12 noon.  Don`t say you can`t dance, just watch Dorothy in the video, she is eighty plus and she is marvellous.  The “Friends” are always pleased to see new faces and give a big welcome to newcomers.

We recently caught up with Stephen, Janet and the group at a Christmas sing-along event at the Mountain View Hotel and I suspect we will be seeing them again in the not too distant future so look out for more news.
