Help Those with Cancer Association (Tulips)

News Update

Carole King and Sue Tilt have been busy as usual with their fundraising for Tulips and they have given us information of their successes during the past week.

Friday 7th December, they were at The Fez in Ҫatalkȍy and would like to give a big thank you to Hayal for allowing them to sell in her beautifully decorated Christmas Grotto, they raised 160TL with the sale of Golden Heart raffle tickets and also thoroughly enjoyed the music of Barry Snakes.

On 8th December, they were invited to sell Golden Heart raffle tickets at the British Resident’ Society – Mince Pie and Mulled Wine party held for its members at St Andrews Church Hall  between 11am and 1pm.  BRS have supported Help Those With Cancer Association (Tulips) all this year and Carole & Sue can’t tell the Committee enough how grateful they have been for the opportunities they have been afforded to raise the much needed funds for the Association.  They raised a FANTASTIC 590TL in those 2 hours and would like to thank the generosity of all who attended and bought raffle tickets.

Last, but not least, there was the Bella View Christmas Sing-along.  Carole and Sue would like to thank Starlite (Anthony McCartney, Jan Parkinson, Dawn Bűyűkertaṣ, and Ian Chennell) for inviting Tulips to join them for an evening of Yuletide entertainment.  It was a fabulous evening with everyone getting into the spirit of things especially when the 12 days of Christmas was sung!

They would like to also thank everyone who attended (650TL was raised on entrance fees) and also those that took part in the fundraiser for the evening which netted Tulips a further 280TL and in addition allowed Chris Burton from Karṣiyaka to take home 140TL in prize money.

Finally they would like to say a huge thank you to Scott Kennedy of Astute FMA who very generously donated a further 300TL on the night raising the total to 1,230TL and many thanks to the Bella View Hotel for supporting Tulips for this event.

Well done to Carole & Sue, keep up the good work
