TRNC Tulips –  Fund Raising Update

We are delighted to have received from Carole King and Sue Tilt, the golden hearted fund-raisers for Help Those With Cancer Association – Tulips the very latest news of their fund-raising efforts which we would like to share with our readers below.

“We would like to let you all know what incredible help you have given to us that has enable us to achieve the following.

4171 Text Day

The total raised from our “Text Day” on 23 October 2012 was a massive 21,645TL. This is a fantastic amount raised and far exceeded our expectations on the day. We would like to thank everyone who took part in texting 4171 and to say to everyone else, that they can still continue to donate at any time by texting to this number. Well done to all our donors and please keep up the good work. Thanks to Cyprus Today for publicising the event for us and putting pictures in their paper, this obviously helped us to promote the day.

We would also like to thank Turkcell and Telsim for their joint support in this initiative.

Stall at Soyz Bar on Sunday 18th November

Well what a fantastic response, despite the fact that we did not have quite the volume of goods that we had at our last stall at Soyz Bar, we managed to raise an amazing 1,760TL. The support we received from all our helpers to achieve this result was amazing and continues to motivate us to do these functions to raise the much-needed funds for Tulips. What a result, we are truly grateful for all who spent money to support our worthwhile cause.

Raffle Tickets Sales

To date we have sold over 3,000TL worth of raffle tickets, however we would encourage everyone to buy these tickets as the prizes are fantastic and for a mere 5TL you could find yourselves having a great weekend at the Palm Beach Hotel in Famagusta full board, winning a Samsung Galaxy 16gb Tablet, Kindle Fire, or Bed, Breakfast and Evening Meal at the Cratos Hotel, along with loads of other fantastic prizes.

We will be at Supreme Supermarket on Friday 23rd November selling our tickets, at the top of the High Street Girne on Saturday 24th November from 10.30 a.m. selling and also we will be at Haci Ali Hotel, Lapta on 1st December. Johnny Lee is having a ‘Party Night’ at the Hotel, Lapta as his friends are celebrating their wedding anniversary and a couple of other close friends have birthdays (including his own), they are not only friends but are staunch supporters when he has been raising funds for Ismail.

Johnny Lee will be performing his fantastic Elvis impression and the music will start at 7.30pm with Johnny Lee taking to the stage a little later after guests have had time to eat most of their meal.

The evening is open to everyone and he has invited Tulips to the party to support their fundraising and is asking people to purchase raffle tickets for the ‘Tulips Golden Heart Raffle’ on the night in place of charging an admission fee.

The Haci Ali Hotel have an excellent ‘value for money’ food and drinks menu so if you wish to eat there then please book a table with Ali (at the Haci Ali Hotel) on 0533 859 4943.

So there we have great news from the Tulips Duo and we would like to say do dig deep and start buying the Golden Heart Raffle tickets and we will be re-publishing details again next week.  What a great guy Jonny Lee is, to invite everyone to his show and to arrange to have raffle tickets sold in place of an entry ticket.
