Best Seller for Best Sellers
If there is a special book required, Best Seller will order it
Driving through Alsancak recently I noticed a signboard for Best Seller Bookshop and realised this was the second of the bookshops 
opened by Martina Cole. I decided to take a look at the shop which is situated in the same block of shops as Freddy’s Restaurant and Bar, a little laid back from the main road with a good parking area in front.
The Alsancak shop is run by Michelle Gray and she told me it opened last November. As it was so near to Christmas it had been decided to concentrate on selling seasonal Christmassy items, which did very well. After Christmas was over and done with the shop then reverted to its main purpose of selling books.
As well as books, there is a good stock of greeting cards for all occasions, wrapping paper, stationery and sundry items. As with the shop in Karakum, if there is a special book required, Best Seller will order it for a customer and there isn’t usual
ly too long to wait for the order to arrive.
There were some new books available at the shop, including The Last Word: My Life as a Gangland Boss by Eddie Richardson. The author will be giving a talk at the Pia Bella Hotel on Saturday 2nd September, which is in aid of charity for Friends of the TRNC Emergency Services who have taken over hosting this event.
Maybe now is the time to start thinking about Christmas presents and what could be nicer than giving someone a good book for many hours of enjoyable reading.
