403 illegal workers, including 100 in construction sector, were found in the TRNC

“THE NUMBER OF WORKERS IN CONSTRUCTION SECTOR IS EIGHT THOUSAND”

TRNC Labour and Social Security Ministry made a statement about the workers working in the construction sector and stated that the expressions that “11,500 illegal workers work in construction sector is not based on scientific data” and added that “there are 8,000 workers who work legally in this sector”.

The Ministry pointed out that in the controls made in the last 6 months, a total of 403 illegal workers, including 100 in the construction sector, were  found and penalties of around 1.5 million TL fines was imposed on them.
