GREEK CYPRIOT POTATO PRODUCERS BLOCK THE ROADS

It has been announced by Greek Cypriot radio, that Greek Cypriot potato producers have blocked the roads between Ay. Napa – Larnaca in order to protest about the import of potatoes from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus due to the Green Line Regulation.

Greek Cypriot potato producers have some demands such as National Potato Production Plan from the Greek Cypriot Agriculture Ministry.

On the other hand, Greek Cypriot Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment Minister Sofoklis Aletraris claimed that the potatoes imported from TRNC affect the interests of Greek Cypriot potato producers and stated that they will not cease importing of potato from TRNC because some producers demand.
