Dirty Business on the air
Double standards and cost cutting behind this year’s KADS radio offering
The subject of this year’s Kyrenia Amateur Dramatic Society’s (KADS) radio play has council cutbacks and outsourcing as its background. In order to retain their jobs two council office cleaners – Angela (left), played by Wynn Harrison, and Natalie (centre), played by Natalie Ratcliffe – decide to play dirty after finding incriminating evidence of Head of Department Roger’s (right) [played by Steve Sydenham] double standards.
Rehearsals of the KADS 2012 comedy ‘Dirty Business’ by Derek Webb are well under way with BRT producer Can Gazi offering to record it on Thursday 9th August.
Directed by Tony Woods and narrated by Stephen Everett ‘Dirty Business’ has Anita Woods as its announcer and Erol Ziya as its sound engineer who will add sound effects and balance sound levels. After that has been completed BRT will slot in its airing for the end of the summer on dates to be announced in this journal.
This ninth collaboration between BRT and KADS has, said director Tony Woods, been an interesting experience as rehearsals had been during some of the hottest and most humid he could remember but, all the same, the cast had enjoyed the experience of taking part in a play that has been quick to produce requiring no set, no costumes, no set and no stage.
