Girne Municipality have completed the asphalting infrastructure and superstructure work on 5 streets including road traffic signs.
Girne Municipality completed asphalting to upgrade the roads where last year asbestos water pipes were changed in Bahriyeliler Sokak, Şht İlker Karter Sokak, Şh. H. Mustafa Sokak, Sarıyer Sokak and Kalkanlı Sokak.
Girne Mayor Nidai Güngördü said that after 42 years 500 meters of asbestos water pipe which was laid near the Girne Law Courts and the nearby Civil Defense organization’s building has been replaced with pressurized HDPE polyethylene drinking water pipe.
Nidai Güngördü also stated that the pavements were upgraded so that pedestrians could walk safely to the car park. He pointed out that infrastructure works were completed in the region after the electrical cable installation was upgraded. He noted that asphalt laying and road lines were completed on the 5 streets in the region.
