Girne Municipality held a hygiene training seminar for Food Businesses


Hygiene training for food businesses in Girne

Girne Municipality has organized a hygiene training seminar for businesses dealing with food such as restaurants, cafes and bars in the city. The seminar was held at the Kyrenia Municipality Leymosun Culture House.

About 40 people working in duties such as kitchen chefs, kitchen workers, supervisors and waiters participated and were  informed about food hygiene and safe food in businesses, food poisoning and personal hygiene.

Naile Soyel, the Girne Municipality Branch Food Engineer, conducted the seminar and at the end of the training course participants were given a certificate in hygiene standards and scientific studies to world standards.

Güngördü: Our aim is to raise the standards

Speaking at the training seminar Girne Mayor, Nidai Güngördü, pointed out the importance of raising the standards of businesses in the food sector in Girne, which is a tourism and student city, pointing out that tourists, students and local people who use these businesses should receive these services in the most healthy way.

Nidai Güngördü said that the municipality and the private sector should work together and in harmony to ensure food safety and hygiene conditions. With the training seminar, Güngördü stated that they aimed to make these kinds of activities permanent and stated that they intended to provide better and higher standards of services.
