North Cyprus takes 9th place at the ITB Berlin 2017 Tourism fair

By Chris Elliott…….

Last week I wrote about the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus attending the 2017 ITB Berlin Tourism Fair which is the world’s largest tourism trade fair. The companies represented at the fair include hotels, tourist boards, tour operators, system providers, airlines and car rental companies click here.

During the course of the fair North Cyprus had an opportunity to introduce cultural, social, health and alternative tourism products to the world.

There were participants from 187 different countries in the ITB Berlin Fair. 73.6% of participants were from Europe, 8.7% from South, East and Central Asia, 5.4% from the Middle East, 7.4% from North America, 1.2% from Australia and Oceania countries and 1.2% from South and Central America.

At the close of the ITB Berlin 2017 Tourism Fair, North Cyprus was ranked in 9th place of the top 10 stands out of a total of 2,000 stands from 187 countries, which is excellent as this is the world’s largest tourism fair which covers an area of 160,000 square meters and at the closing of the fair plaques were presented to the TRNC stand.

  1. Excellent achievement now they have to clean up and get ready for summer after a rap like this. Chris Elliott.

Germans are no fools and they are very picky about tidiness. Thanks for the great news anyhow Chris, great news.

  2. Excellent News Chris! Well done TRNC Tourism Ministry. Would Tourism Dep’t please make sure that every Ministry sees the Tourism pitch, so that they see what is being sold to potential tourists (who may also be potential Investors). I’m sure the money for a ‘clean-up’ can be found. 🙂
