By Margaret Sheard …..
Spring is just around the corner and the time when the flora and fauna of North Cyprus is at its best.
This is Festival time and we can look forward to the 13th Tepebaşı Tulip Festival which is being held on 18th and 19th March and is organised by the Tepebaşı Culture, Art and Environment Protection Association (Tepder). The event will start at 10am on the 18th March and finish at 6pm on the 19th. We would like to thank Ahmet Gurol Ersun for providing information which we are sharing with our worldwide readers.
After the opening ceremony at 11.00am on the 18th March, throughout the day there will be folk dancing, concerts, and Tulip walks.
There will also be trekking and this event will be early morning on Sunday 19th March.
In the festival area there will be stands which will be selling local foods, craftwork etc. so there will be plenty to see and do.
Why not make a diary note to go along and enjoy this Festival. We are hoping to be able to go along ourselves for the first time.
Hello
Could you assist by telling me directions and name of place where tulip festival is being held please
No problem Bill please see map below and I think the the event is held at the local school but don’t worry, just follow the crowds and any signs that you see.
Cheers Chris much appreciated…
Visited the festival on Saturday afternoon had a great time listening to the music & watching the Dancing. The food was good And not expensive.. Visited the tulip fields Saturday and again on Sunday. it is great to see them growing wild and doing well. If i had one request it would some directional signage from the main road to the Tulips. There are also many wild flowers growing that I have never seen before in the U.K.
Thank you Stephen,
If you would like to submit a more informative review with some pictures we will be glad to help you set it up and publish it for you
Many thanks
