Cola-flavoured Sauce
Summertime is BBQ time. And a good barbecue meal tradtionally includes delicious sauces. Of course, nowadays you can find a wide range of prefabricated sauces in the supermarket shelves, but it’s also fun to create your own sauces. To give you readers a few suggestions, I publish a little series of quick and easy recipes for homemade barbecue sauces.
Your imagination has no limits, changing and complementing the recipes to your taste!

Ingredients
- 1 can cola-flavoured carbonated beverage
- 250 ml ketchup
- 1 medium size onion, finely chopped
- freshly crushed garlic or garlic powder to taste
- 1 tspn hot pepper sauce (e.g. Tabasco)
Preparation
In a big enough saucepan combine the cola beverage, ketchup, onion, garlic (garlic powder) and hot pepper sauce.
Cook over medium heat, stiring from time to time, until the sauce has thickened.
Let the sauce cool down before serving.
