Wedding report for My Cyprus Scene from Carol Blackwell-Gibbs

On September 15th I had the pleasure to arrange the civil wedding of Jennie Yardley & Scott Diduca-Burden at the beautiful Kybele in Bellapais

The wedding had taken many months to organise and was not helped by the fact that it was held during Bayram!  But it all came together beautifully.

Just under 50 guests attended with most having flown in from the UK.

I have always said this is where I wanted to get married due to the lovely scenery, it feels like a second home

I asked the happy couple a few questions, the first being  ‘When and when did they meet?’

A: ‘We met at our local pub, The Woolpack, in the village where we live in Smeeth, Kent, UK in 2010.

Why Northern Cyprus?’ I asked.  Jennie answered

A: ‘I  have been visiting Northern Cyprus since 2004 (12 years) and I have always said this is where I wanted to get married due to the lovely scenery, it feels like a second home and of course, the sunshine!’

Our day was all we could have wished for and more. It really was the fairy tale wedding. We are so pleased our family and friends flew over for England to share our special day with us.

It took a lot of hard work and effort from all ends to achieve the dream wedding but we pulled it off and we are so very grateful to everyone involved’.

The civil ceremony was followed by a very smart Mr Keith Lloyd who performed the Tying of The Knot, complete with pink ribbon to match the colour scheme.

Following photographs by Studyo Alem, drinks, canapés and a delicious three course meal, DJ Mr T kicked off the evenings entertainment followed by The Gipsey Brothers.  Whilst cutting the cake, fireworks lit up the gardens and were enjoyed by all, including the guests dining in the restaurant!

Finally,  I wish Mr & Mrs Diduca-Burden Good Health and A Very Happy Future together!
